Automate configuration with the Data loader
Sometimes, data may be huge and need to push the data to the oracle applications. Either it may be transactional data and master data. If we say, we have less data but we have to reduce the time line (manual work hours) and need to reduce the human errors.
We can use data loader to automate most of the configurations and we can use this data loader for the business daily usage as well. We no need to have any technical knowledge as well. any end user can perform/ use this tool for configuration or transactional data.
In this business case, I would like to share my experience , for one of our customer, we used to receive structural changes for every month and this request will be containing the segment values, roll up changes, security rules, cross validation rules, chart of accounts mapping, FND look ups…etc. This whole requ6est used to take more than 10 effective man hrs. to automate this without any usage of the paid tools, we have used data loader which can full fill this request.
For example, we have chart of accounts mapping in oracle applications. Chart of accounts mapping to map two or more charts of accounts. The chart of accounts mapping used by Accounting Setup Manager to complete the setup steps for secondary ledgers, and it is used by the Global Consolidation System to consolidate data between ledgers. If the primary and secondary ledgers use different charts of accounts, the chart of accounts mapping is required to instruct the system how to propagate journals from the main transactional chart of accounts to the target chart of accounts. If the primary and secondary ledgers use different accounting calendars, the accounting date is used to determine the corresponding non adjusting period in the secondary ledger. Chart of Account mapping option helps to correlate source chart of account to target chart of account for creating journal entries.

We need to open the chart of accounts mapping oracle application form and need to place the cursor where we need to start the configuration.
Process steps for using the data loader:
⦁ download install it in your desktop and then click on the data loader icon and start it
⦁ After the data loader is started, either import the data into the data loader sheet or copy paste it manually as below
⦁ Select the Oracle application window where we are going to upload the data
⦁ select the command group as oracle application version which we are using currently
⦁ Move the cursor to the first field in the oracle applications window
⦁ As soon as we start migration and click on OK, data loader will start loading data into the oracle window, which will be visible to us. We can also set the time delay to insert the records between file.
