Effective troubleshooting of critical issues in the Oracle E-business Suite can be achieved through various means. We’d like to share information on recent issues in the Oracle E-business Suite that were rapidly resolved thanks to diagnostics from Oracle support.

Issue:

Last week, a problem arose in the E-business suite R12.2 regarding the viewing of form outputs. When users clicked the “View Output” button of a concurrent program, a blank page would appear instead of the expected output. This issue was experienced by all users. Despite a thorough examination of logs, no clues were found to diagnose the cause of the problem. As a result, a service request was submitted to Oracle support for assistance.

Diagnose and Solution from SR:

We did noticed a diagnose program available out of the box in 12.2 and helped us to quickly understand the issue. The program name is “FS Diagnostic Test Program” .

The program’s goal is to imitate file transfers as though they were performed by concurrent programs or any other process that uses FNDFS and FNDWRR.exe. It also includes code logic that allows these executables to produce diagnostic log files to aid in the debugging of any issues that may arise.

This program can be run in several modes, controlled by the ‘Mode’ parameter. The modes are:

  • FULL – Run all tests (Default)
  • FILE – Test copying an file
  • REQLOG – Test viewing a concurrent request logfile
  • REQOUT – Test viewing a concurrent request output file
  • MGR – Test viewing a concurrent manager logfile
  • RFILE – Test copying a file using RemoteFile

We did uploaded the same in Oracle support ticket. Upon raising it and uploading the diagnostics, oracle provided swift solution after reviewing the output.

As a result, we noticed a difference in Oracle support, which provides such remedies fast for issues if the relevant diagnostics output is supplied to Support.
