Oracle has announced the availability of the inter-region latency dashboard for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to give the customers a view of performance metrics for inter-region traffic.
The dashboard gives you a real-time and historical latency view for OCI regions. With this information on hand, customers can now plan data center deployments, assess requirements, troubleshooting application performance, and optimizing cloud infrastructure.
To make it more useful, the dashboard gives a grid view of the real-time round-trip latency between any regional pairs. For more information on any regional pair, you can view detailed historical latency, and configure alarming.
During network planning, the most important task is to balance the requirements in disaster recovery, compliance, data residency, and performance. The dashboard gives you a view of the performance through the selection of different regional selections.
Historical data gives you a view of the latency performance when the real-time performance is satisfactory. Moreover, you can integrate latency metrics with an on-premise monitoring platform. You can also configure a system alarm to inform you when the threshold is exceeded.
