Project Role Description:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Administrator with 4–5 years of hands-on experience in managing Linux, Unix, and Windows environments, with mandatory exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The role requires strong system administration, networking, security-focused operations, and vendor coordination capabilities to ensure high availability, reliability, and secure IT operations.

 

Technical Expertise:

  • Core System Administration
    • Administer and support Linux, Unix, Ubuntu, and Windows operating systems
    • Perform system patching, backups, restores, and health checks
    • Monitor system performance and proactively identify risks or capacity issues
    • Ensure system availability, reliability, and adherence to operational SLAs
  • Cloud & OCI (Mandatory)
    • Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services
    • Support cloud-based workloads including compute, storage, networking, and security components
    • Implement proactive recommendations with strong focus on security and compliance
  • Security & Operations
    • Monitor system security posture and participate in vulnerability remediation
    • Support DR operations, backup validation, and cybersecurity monitoring
    • Provide L2/L3 support, troubleshoot incidents, and participate in root cause analysis
  • Networking
    • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls)
    • Configure and support Site-to-Site VPN / IPsec tunnels
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for connectivity and troubleshooting
  • Automation & Scripting
    • Strong expertise in Linux/Unix with working knowledge of Shell scripting and Python
    • Experience with automation tools such as OCI CLI, Ansible, or Terraform (preferred)
  • Collaboration & Documentation
    • Work closely with application, database, and security teams to support deployments and integrations
    • Liaise with vendors for issue resolution, upgrades, patches, and escalations
    • Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and configuration records
    • Support 24×7 operations and on-call rotations as required

 

Good To Have Skills:

  • Exposure to other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Familiarity with GitHub, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus or NinjaOne
  • Working knowledge of NFS, CIFS, and storage concepts
  • Understanding of virtualization, databases, and enterprise IT infrastructure

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain responsibility, accountability, and credibility in all assignments
  • Identify, isolate, and resolve production and non-production system issues
  • Install, configure, and support Windows Server (2012/2016/2019) and related roles (IIS, SSL, .NET, AD, SFTP, etc.)
  • Install, migrate, and deploy printers programmatically
  • Troubleshoot Windows configuration and performance issues
  • Maintain strong understanding of firewalls, IPS/IDS, and server port management
