INTRODUCTION
The below steps shows us how to take patch analysis on oracle EBS R12.1.
STEP 1:
Download the Recommended Patch from MOS, move it to the server and Unzip.
(NOTE:A Directory named ad should be created and the patch should be moved the mentioned Directory, this is because when we run the Patch analysis the system will check for the Directory ad if it does not find any directory called ad the request will end up in error)
STEP 2:
Open the EBS front end navigate to
(System Administrator->Oracle Application Manager->Patches and utilities)
STEP3:
Navigate to The Patch Wizard in the right side of the Application Manager from the select wizard,
STEP4:
Click the Tasks from the Patch wizard preferences from the Patch wizard screen.
STEP 5:
In this Step we need to provide the Staging directory, the directory location should be the location of the ad directory where the patch is present.
STEP 6:
Go back to Patch wizard, and navigate to the Recommend/Analyze Patches
Step 7:
In the Recommend /Analyze Patches window we need to provide the Patch name and choose Analyze Aggregate Patch Impact and click ok
Step 8:
Once we click ok, a concurrent will start to run and that can be monitored in the Recommended Patch results in Patch wizard window.
On clicking the Details we can see the phase and status of the concurrent request. and choose aggregate Impact where we will get the final output of Patch Analysis.
