Issue :

E-Business Suite 12.2 Applications Technology Stack, Secure Socket Layer Configuration issues .

Users report receiving the below message when accessing the SSL URL for E-Business Suite via a Windows client:

‘There is a problem with this website’s security certificate.

The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority.

 

Cause :

The root cert wast not showing in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities, even though it was imported successfully.

The root cert needs to be installed successfully in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities.

 

Solution:

 

1. Enter the EBS URL in the browser.

2. The warning message, ‘There is a problem with this website’s security certificate’ will display.

3. Click on, ‘Continue to this website (not recommended)’.

4. The Address bar will display with a red background, click on the ‘Certificate error’ message.

5. An ‘Untrusted Certificate’ window pops, click ‘View Certificates’.

6. Click the ‘Certification Path’ (Tab).

7. Highlight the Root certificate (with a white cross in a red background next to it) and press ‘View Certificate’ button.

8. Click ‘Install Certificate’ (button) -> ‘Next’ (button).

9. Select ‘Place all the certificates in the following store’.

10. Click the ‘Browse’ (button).

11. Select check box “Show Physical stores”.

12. select ‘Trusted Root Certification Authorities’ /Local folder and click ‘OK’ (button).

13. Click ‘Browse’ (button) and select ‘Trusted Root Certification Authorities’ folder and click ‘OK’ (button).

14. Click ‘Next’ (button) followed by ‘Finish’ (button). When the ‘Security Warning’ window pops up asking to install the certificate, click ‘Yes’ (button).

15. The ‘Certificate Import Wizard’ window should display stating ‘The import was successful’, click ‘OK’ (button). Also close the two ‘Certificate’ windows by clicking the ‘OK’ (buttons).

16. Close all of the browser sessions.

17. Retest the issue and confirm the error is no longer displayed.
