Introduction : This blog has the configuration update the same customer tax registration number for multiple customers/sites

Why we need to do : As per the legal requirement, Business requested us to update the same customer tax registration number for multiple customers/sites

How do we solve:

 

Configuration to update the customer tax registration number for multiple sites:

  1. Setup and Maintenance > Manage Taxes
  2. Open the tax associated at line level
  3. Enable allow duplicate registration numbers for tax in Control And Defaults tab

Configuration to update the customer tax registration number for multiple customers:

 

  1. Setup and maintenance > Manage Country Default Controls
  2. Check if you already have a Default control for Finland country
  3. If you have, modify the existing one with the following steps, if not, create a new one
  4. In the ‘Registration Number Controls and Defaults’ section, add Validation Type and Validation Level as needed for your business
  5. For ‘Duplicate Validation Level’ field, add value: ‘NO VALIDATION’

This setup should allow you to have duplicate TRN for two different customers.
