Job Summary:
As a Core Database Administrator (DBA) Fresher, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance in
managing and maintaining the organization’s database systems. Working under the guidance of senior DBAs and the IT
team, you will help ensure the integrity, availability, and performance of databases while learning and gaining
hands-on experience in database administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Monitoring: Assist in monitoring the health, performance, and availability of databases to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Database Maintenance: Help perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, updates, and patch installations to keep the database systems up-to-date and secure.
- Troubleshooting: Collaborate with senior DBAs to diagnose and troubleshoot database-related problems, resolving them efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Performance Optimization: Assist in tuning database performance, optimizing queries, and improving database response times.
- Security Management: Learn and apply security best practices to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive data within the databases.
- Backup and Recovery: Contribute to the implementation and testing of database backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical data.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, changes, and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the IT team, developers, and other stakeholders to understand database requirements and provide necessary support.
- Learning and Development: Stay updated with the latest database technologies, tools, and industry trends to continuously improve your skills.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
- Basic understanding of database concepts, SQL, and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.).
- Familiarity with database design and normalization principles is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work well within a team and collaborate effectively with others.
- Eagerness to learn and a strong desire to pursue a career in database administration.
Preferred Certifications:
Not mandatory but can be advantageous:
- Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) in Database Administration.
- Any other relevant certifications related to database management.
