Project Role: Site Reliability Engineer

Project Role Description

Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for performing a range of tasks, including monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting systems, as well as assisting with the development of new solutions. Looking for a Midlevel engineer with experience in the fields of DevOps/SRE/CloudOps. The right candidate for this role has experience working with cloud platforms, experience with CI/CD, and core responsibilities of SRE. Experience with GCP is a huge plus.

Work Location: Chennai

Shift: Day shift as per EST (Night shift as per IST)

Technical Expertise

Must-Have Skills

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in cloud development, dev-ops, and/or SRE roles.
• Cloud Proficiency: Proficient with cloud provider(s) such as GCP, AWS, or others.
• Microservices: Familiar with supporting microservices as containerized workloads.
• IAC Tools: Experience with IAC tools like GitLab and Terraform (or similar tools).
• Messaging Systems: Understanding of Kafka or similar messaging systems.
• CDNs: Experience maintaining a CDN for a high-traffic, performant website.
• WAF Maintenance: Experience with maintaining a Web Application Firewall (WAF).
• Scripting: Comfortable creating and updating scripts and small applications in Node.js, Python, PHP, or Java.
• Security Practices: Knowledge of best security practices for cloud and web applications.
• System Design: Experience designing, maintaining, and tuning high-performance systems for optimal performance.
• Collaboration: Good communication skills and the ability to work well with multiple teams.
• Adaptability: Vendor and product-agnostic with the ability to adapt to emerging IT standards.
• Extended Hours: Ability to work extended hours during peak business times, especially during major holidays and production deployments.

Good-to-Have Skills

• CDN Experience: Experience maintaining a CDN for a high-traffic, performant website, especially with Fastly.

Key Responsibilities

• Proficient with cloud provider(s) GCP, AWS, or others.

• Experience with automation tools like Datadog, Ansible, etc.
• Experience with Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Cloud security experience.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Git.
• Familiarity with Splunk.
