Saravana Kumar was one of the first four people to join Doyensys. He has been instrumental in the growth of the company and has contributed through his expertise and the extraordinary skill of developing people. Let’s see what he has to say about Doyensys.
How long has been your journey with Doyensys?
13 years.
What is your role at Doyensys?
I work as a Senior Consultant.
What does your average day look like?
A typical day involves working in close partnership with clients. The work allows me to explore new areas and resolve new challenges.
Can you quote your favourite Doyensys memory?
I have tonnes of memories which cannot be expressed in a few words. I was one of the first four people to join Doyensys when we started out. We worked tirelessly and looked forward to new challenges. The president of the firm guided us through all the difficult times and helped us grow. He is extremely analytical and has always surprised me with his detailed thought-process.
If you had to pick one aspect that you like the most about working at Doyensys, what would that be?
It has to be the huge level of trust and flexibility that we enjoy in the office. I like the workplace environment and I also try to keep the place lively. Doyensys is a place where you can enjoy a healthy work-life balance which lacks in most companies.
What kind of a leader are you? How do you rate yourself as a leader and what do you do to motivate your team?
I try to support my team members and guide them to the best of my capabilities. I share constant feedback because it is important to get qualitative feedback so that they can expand their boundaries. I motivate my team and involve them in all aspects of work. It gives them the confidence to perform better.
How do you contribute apart from work at Doyensys? (Eg: Contributing to Events, CSR Activities, Conducting Sports etc.)
I am a part of all events conducted by Doyensys, including team outings.
What do you like doing when you are not at work? (Eg.: Shopping, playing games, etc)
I would love to be on track for car racing. However, time becomes a constraint.
Who do you look up to in your life – leaders, authors or someone from your personal life?
Doyensys has introduced me to several people who have taught me important life lessons. I look up to my dad and he has been a significant influence in my life. I also value my guru, Somu, who has shown me the path of my life on which I am travelling right now.
